POCATELLO — Ray's Custom Interiors has taken a new identity as of May of this year and the business has moved to a new location in Historic Downtown Pocatello with great architectural detail that has been given new life.
Sammy J. Riddle, who purchased the store three years ago, said the company is now known as Draype Interiors. The business now has a new showroom and now has a location in Seattle.
"I'm originally from Seattle," he said. "I've been in Pocatello for about four years."
Draype Interiors has moved to a new location on North Second Avenue that they have been in for almost a year. The store is located near ChubbyZ' sandwich shop and Carpet One. Riddle said the renovations took time, but the beautiful results were worth the wait.
"We renovated the space and changed the name," Riddle said.
The business still offers the same services as it did before. They still specialize in window coverings, drapery, upholstery, fabric and interior design. Riddle said, with the exception of new furniture and accessories in design projects, everything in the shop is custom-made for each customer.
"We can craft a custom interior that tells an individual story for a client," he said.
The community has had a positive reaction to the name change so far. Riddle said he has come to love the people of Pocatello during the years he has spent here and he is happy to be able to provide this service to them.
"The people of Pocatello have wrapped their arms around me," he said. "My son went to Highland and enjoyed a championship football season in his senior year. He was the Idaho 5A player of the year and is now playing football at ISU. It's been a really cool place for us to be and a wonderful chapter."
Riddle said before he was an interior designer he was in the music industry. He has always loved to create art, and he now applies that creativity to his work in interior design.
"I realized I could use creative fuel that inspired me to write music and make records to help people with their interiors," he said. "It's the same thing, just a different medium."
Draype Interiors will give the people of Pocatello a place where they can find everything they need for interior design. Many of the people Riddle has worked with told him how glad they were that he was able to help them with everything.
"People in Pocatello generally haven't had one-stop shop that could speak to their entire interior," he said. "People are grateful that we're here. They don't have to go to Salt Lake City or Idaho Falls."
Draype Interiors is located at 110 N. Second Ave. More information can be found at draypeinteriors.com.
