The list of accomplishments, awards, honors and trophies won by Jimmy Lewis is enough to make anyone do a double-take.
Lewis, one of the world’s most famous dirt bike riders, is coming to Southeast Idaho for a three-day clinic in McCammon.
“He’s either won or been on the podium in every international race,” said Martin Hackworth, the editor, publisher and webmaster of motorcyclejazz.com.
According to a press release, Lewis is a Dakar podium finisher and double class winner, a four-time International Six Day Enduro Gold Medalist, ISDE Silver Vase Junior World Champion, Overall winner Baja 1000, Overall winner Dubai Rally and the editor of Cycle World off-road and Dirt Rider.
Lewis will bring his accomplishments and fame to McCammon for the KLIM Dirt Days, Aug. 16, 17 and 18.
Hackworth met Lewis while writing a profile feature last year. Through that relationship, he was able to bring him in for a few of days.
The KLIM Dirt Days will include daily guided or self-guided trail rides, food and music. The Sand Trap will be catering.
Hackworth says this three-day event coincides with “The Tour of Idaho” motorcycle ride, an 1600-mile adventure that enthusiasts can embark on anytime from July through early October.
“It goes from Utah to near the Canadian border,” Hackworth said.
The cost to participate in Lewis’ clinics is $250 for adults. Small bike clinics take place Saturday while Sunday is reserved for large bikes. There is a kids clinic Friday, and it costs $125.
The clinics are limited to the first 10 who sign up.
