Idaho State offensive lineman Skyler Phillips played in Saturday's Senior Bowl, representing the victorious South Team in front of numerous NFL scouts and coaches in Mobile, Alabama.
The South defeated the North 45-16, racking up 540 yards of offense with the help of to Phillips and the offensive line. The South led 18-3 at halftime and scored 20 points in the third quarter.
Phillips, who spent five years at Idaho State, was touted by media as a potential breakout player with rising NFL Draft stock during the week of practice leading up to the game. He blocked for Richmond quarterback Kyle Lauletta, who was named the game's most outstanding player.
The game, which showcased the top senior college football players with NFL Draft potential, featured potential top overall pick and Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen, star Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, Weber State defensive back and 2017 Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Year Taron Johnson, and Boise State wide receiver Cedrick Wilson, among others.
