Founded on August 28, 1996, owner and founder Todd Graves opened the first Restaurant to bring his Chicken Finger dream to life. After earning the lowest grade in his college business class for his idea and facing repeated rejections from banks, Graves worked 90-hour weeks as a boilermaker in California and spent a season commercial fishing in Alaska to fund the first Restaurant. Originally planning to name it “Sockeye’s,” he instead named it after his yellow Labrador, Raising Cane. On opening night, Graves waved Customers in from the street and kept the doors open until 3:30 a.m. Nearly 30 years later, Raising Cane’s has grown to nearly 1,000 Restaurants across 40+ states and continues expanding nationwide and internationally.
