POCATELLO — Whether it’s all the cars now filling the parking lot or that big sign on the front of the building that gives it away, it should be clear to most that the newest Ridley’s Family Market is now open for business in the Gate City.
The new Ridley’s is at 1000 Pocatello Creek Road, the former Winco Foods location, and is about 42,000 square feet, or roughly 31 percent larger than the company’s long-standing Old Town Pocatello location. The Old Town store will remain open, Mark Ridley, owner of Ridley’s Family Markets, told the Journal earlier this year.
The large square footage means expanded areas in the new store compared with the Old Town location, including an expanded produce, service meat and butcher block departments.
The standards one has become accustomed to in Ridley’s, the full-service deli, made-from-scratch bakery and full-service pharmacy are also there.
Ridley said at the time that the new store would employ between 75 and 100 people.
The store opened on
Sept. 30, and Ridley, via e-mail on Tuesday, said the opening went well and the response has been good.
He said Ridley’s has been running specials to celebrate the opening, and that customers should expect those to continue.
The newest Pocatello location is the 21st store for Ridley’s, which has locations in Idaho and Utah.
