BURLEY — A 59-year-old Heyburn man died Friday night after his motorcycle crossed the center line of a Burley road and collided with an oncoming SUV, according to Idaho State Police.

The crash happened around 10:21 p.m. in the 1000 block West Bedke Boulevard when the man was riding a 2015 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound, crossed left of center and struck a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 33-year-old Burley man traveling southbound, state police said.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, according to police. He was wearing a helmet.

The Jeep's driver sustained minor injuries but was not transported to the hospital, state police said. He was wearing a seat belt.

The names of those involved in the crash have not been released.

The roadway was blocked for about two hours as crews worked the scene.

Idaho State Police were assisted by the Cassia County Sheriff's Office, Burley Fire Department and Cassia Regional Hospital medics.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
