MACKAY — A Grace man has been arrested in connection with a forced entry at a Mackay residence that left him shot and hospitalized earlier this week, the Custer County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday.
Douglass A. Flagg, of Grace, was arrested Thursday on a warrant stemming from the Aug. 11 incident. He faces charges of aggravated assault, malicious injury to property and attempted burglary, according to the sheriff’s office.
The arrest comes two days after Custer County dispatch received a call at 3:16 a.m. Tuesday from a 47-year-old man reporting he had been shot. Deputies responded to the scene while Mackay Ambulance staged nearby until the area was secured. Preliminary investigation found the man had been shot while forcefully entering a residence. The individuals involved were known to each other.
Flagg was treated at the scene, transported to a hospital and later released before his arrest Thursday.
The incident remains under investigation.
