A local motorcyclist has died nearly three weeks after suffering critical injuries in a crash near Swan Valley.
The 69-year-old male motorcyclist from Idaho Falls succumbed to his injuries Oct. 29 at a local hospital, according to Idaho State Police.
His name hasn't been released.
The crash occurred around 4:56 p.m. Oct. 9 on U.S. Highway 26. The man was riding a 1997 Harley-Davidson westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve and the motorcycle went off the road, state police said.
He was airlifted via emergency helicopter to the hospital with critical injuries. His passenger, a 68-year-old Idaho Falls woman, was transported by ground ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries, state police said. The woman's name hasn't been released.
Neither the man nor woman was wearing a helmet, authorities said.
Idaho State Police were assisted at the scene of the crash by the Bonneville County Sheriff's Office, Swan Valley Ambulance and Swan Valley Fire Department.
