A Bonneville County man was arrested Monday after he reportedly threatened a neighbor with a gun during an argument.
The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office responded to the victim's home at around 2 p.m. He said Bret Holdeman, 62, had approached him with a gun pointed at him.
The sheriff's deputy who responded reportedly viewed a cellphone recording of the confrontation. Holdeman is reportedly seen pulling a handgun from his pocket and heard threatening to kill the victim.
The victim reportedly wrestled with Holdeman and managed to take the gun from him and flee before calling 911. No shots were fired during the struggle and no one was injured, according to a sheriff's office news release.
The neighbors had reportedly been fighting over an outbuilding on the property.
Holdeman was charged with aggravated assault, punishable with up to five years in prison. His bond was set at $20,000. A no-contact order was issued between him and the victim.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 14 in Bonneville County Court.
