SHELLEY — A 69-year-old Rexburg woman and a 40-year-old Idaho Falls man were both rushed to local hospitals Friday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash at an intersection north of Shelley, according to Idaho State Police.
The crash happened at approximately 1:25 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 91 and East 1500 North, state police said.
The woman was driving a 2022 Toyota Venza compact SUV eastbound on East 1500 North when her vehicle struck a 2013 Chevrolet City Express van driven by the man, who was traveling northbound on Highway 91, according to state police.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were taken to local hospitals for treatment, state police said.
Their names and conditions haven't been released.
The northbound lanes of Highway 91 were blocked for approximately one hour and 45 minutes while crews worked the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
