POCATELLO — “A Midsummer’s Night for the Zoo,” the annual Pocatello Zoo event for adults (21 years and older) is this Saturday, July 13, from 6 to 9:30 p.m.
Proceeds will help fund a new zoo entrance.
It will be a romantic evening under the stars at the Outdoor Amphitheater behind the Fort Hall Replica. Pocatello’s home band, Gas, Food, & Lodging will be providing musical entertainment and dancing throughout the evening beginning at 6 p.m. The Sand Trap will cater Greek cuisine. There will also be dessert, a no-host bar by Intermountain Beverage Company and other beverages for everyone.
The silent and live auctions have more than $20,000 in items and outings on which to bid, under the direction of Prime Time Auctions. These include adopting and naming an orphaned baby elk calf and also a pronghorn fawn, both born at the zoo this past month. Other items include field trips with Idaho Fish and Game and a cabin vacation package in Swan Valley on the South Fork.
There is also a raffle with more than $1,000 in prizes. Several zoo animals will be present as well with volunteer handlers.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, or perhaps grab a table at the top of the amphitheater. Buy the event ticket and get free chances for several door prizes.
Entrance and parking will be from the north side of upper Ross Park, across from the Sinclair Station.
Tickets are $25 per person and available at The Grapevine, zoo entrance or office, and at the event gate.
