The Idaho State men's and women's track and field teams had a strong showing Friday at the Utah Valley Invitational.

WOMEN'S MEET

Brianna VanVleet won the triple jump with a jump of 37 feet, 11 inches. She also finished third in the 110-meter hurdles. Teammate Sierra Kiser won the pole vault with a mark of 11 feet, 7.75 inches.

Ginger Nelson set a new personal-best mark in the high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 7.25 inches, earning a third-place finish. Olivia Holmes finished third in the 400-meter race and Shayla Henderson placed third in the 400-meter hurdles.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Holmes, Henderson, VanVleet and Ashley VanVleet-Sturgis finished second with a time of 4:00.40.

MEN'S MEET

Tanner Conner won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.66 seconds, while teammate Jakota Brown finished second in the 400-meter hurdles. Seth Jarrus finished third in the long jump.

In the throwing events, Trevor Jensen set a new personal-best mark in the discus, throwing 166 feet, 8 inches. This mark ties him for seventh all-time in the ISU record book.

Idaho State competes April 6 at the Pomona-Pizer Invitational in Pomona, California.
