The Idaho State men’s and women’s track and field teams head to Ogden, Utah, for the 2019 Weber State Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Stromberg Complex.

Women

The Bengal women look to continue momentum heading into the meet after strong showings at the Stacy Dragila Open and the Montana State Dual Invite.

Jessica Swannack is currently ranked second in the Big Sky Conference after consecutive wins in the pole vault. Sierra Kiser comes into the meet tied for fourth in the conference.

Molly Olsen holds the top mark in the Big Sky in the mile with a time of 4 minutes, 51.92 seconds. Right behind her is Jenica Dodge with a time of 4:53.63.

Ashley VanVleet-Sturgis ended the Montana State meet with a pair of podium finishes. In the 400-meter dash, she finished second just 1/100th of a second behind the runner from Utah State. Hannah Bartz finished second in the long jump for the Bengals jumping, 5.59 meters (18 feet, 4.25 inches).

Taylor Clark threw a personal-best 16.80 meters (55 feet, 4.75 inches) to net her a fourth-place finish in the weight throw at Montana State. She started the season taking first place at the Stacy Dragila Open.

Men

The men head into the meet after coming home with three first-place wins at Montana State.

For the second week in a row, Jesse Allen took home first place in a distance event. He won the mile at Montana State, running a personal-best 4:22.19.

Trevor Jensen looks to continue his momentum after winning the weight throw. For the second week in a row, Jensen threw a personal-best 18.26 meters (59 feet, 11 inches), tying him for second place in the conference and earning him the U.S. Bank Bengal Athlete of the Week award.

Seth Jarus and Treyshon Malone look to continue their efforts. Jarus picked up a pair of second-place finishes in the long jump and triple jump. Malone finished fourth at the Montana State meet but is currently ranked sixth in the long jump in the conference.
