Blackfoot native Colby Pearson was released by the Green Bay Packers, the team announced Wednesday.
Pearson spent the final three weeks of last season on the Packers’ practice squad. He was signed June 1, 2017 by the Packers as an undrafted free agent.
It is the second time the Packers released Pearson. The team also released him Aug. 28, 2017 before signing him to its practice squad Dec. 13, 2017.
Pearson played prep football at Blackfoot High before spending four seasons at BYU. He played in 41 career games over four seasons at BYU, recording 76 receptions for 864 yards and eight touchdowns. As a senior in 2016, he set career highs in receptions (38), yards receiving (384) and receiving touchdowns (eight).
