IDAHO FALLS — A 25-year-old Pocatello man died early Tuesday morning after he was struck by a semi while running across Interstate 15 in Idaho Falls, according to Idaho State Police.

The crash happened at approximately 5:30 a.m. on northbound Interstate 15 and partially shut down the freeway for several hours, state police said.

The man was running through traffic on the interstate when a 2024 Volvo semi, driven by a 28-year-old man from Manitoba, Canada, attempted to avoid him while traveling northbound.

The truck struck the man and he died at the scene, according to state police. His name hasn’t been released.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 15 were blocked for approximately five hours following the collision.

The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
