Idaho Transportation Department officials say they are planning six construction projects along Interstate 15 between the Utah and Montana borders in the months ahead.

The speed limits will be reduced and some interchange ramps and roadway shoulders will occasionally be closed as the work progresses, officials said.

“Traffic within the work zones will be reduced to one lane in each direction with both north- and southbound traffic traveling on the same side of the interstate,” according to a news release.

Officials say they will be repairing four bridges on the section of the interstate between Arimo and McCammon. That work is expected to begin this month and continue into the fall.

In addition, they will be working on two projects between April and late May. They will be rehabilitating three bridges on I-15 in the Inkom area, and resurfacing four miles of the interstate from Sand Road to the South Blackfoot Interchange, officials said.

Starting in May and continuing into the fall, crews will be reconstructing eight miles of I-15 between Spencer and Dubois. They will also be repairing one bridge and resurfacing nine miles of the interstate between McCammon and Inkom. That work is scheduled to take place starting in June and continuing into the fall.

In addition to the projects listed above, ITD officials are planning one project that could take closer to a year to complete. They say they will be replacing the Rose Road Interchange between Blackfoot and Idaho Falls. That project is expected to begin this fall and won’t be completed until fall of 2019.
