IDAHO FALLS — DirecTV subscribers in Eastern Idaho will once again be able to watch Local News 8 and CW East Idaho programming.

    It was announced Friday that an agreement has been reached with DirecTV and the KIFI News Group.

    “We are pleased to announce that KIFI - Local News 8 and The CW East Idaho has reached an agreement with DirecTV for carriage of our signal,” said Michael A. Shiverdecker, promotion director for the KIFI News Group. “KIFI and The CW will be returned to the DirecTV service today (10/25). We thank our viewers for their patience and support.”

    KIFI programming, with a studio based in Idaho Falls, was pulled from the airwaves on Oct. 9.

    The station’s carriage agreement with DirecTV had expired on Sept. 30.

    In addition, Cable ONE officials announced on Oct. 1 that all Turner Network channels would be removed from the line-up due to a concerted retaliation effort associated with ongoing contract negotiations.

    As a result, CNN, CNN en Espanol, Headline News, Turner Classic Movies, TruTV and Boomerang are no longer accessible to local Cable ONE customers.

    Those with Cable ONE and Turner Network have yet to come to an agreement.
