Combine fire

Flames engulf a combine in a farm field near Bancroft on Friday afternoon.

On September 29, 2023, at approx. 3:55 PM, the Caribou County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Dispatch Center received notification of a combine fire near Talmage Rd and Rigby Rd (approx. 7 miles east of Bancroft).

Fire Departments from Caribou County and Bancroft responded, as well as the Caribou County Sheriff’s Office.

There were no injuries and the fire did not spread due to a nearby tractor and cultivation equipment being able to make a quick fire break.

The combine was a complete loss.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined by the Caribou County Fire Dept.
