Three news organizations banished from White House grounds have asked a court to block enforcement of the action until the case is resolved. They say the Trump administration has “persisted in unpredictably and inconsistently implementing its ban” despite a judge’s restraining order. That includes barring CNN from fulfilling its role in the White House television pool over the weekend. In a statement, the plaintiffs reiterated that Trump’s ban on the three news outlets was “a blatant violation of the First Amendment and due process.”
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox will get prime time exposure in Major League Baseball’s Wild Card Series. All three potential games in the AL first-round matchup that begins Tuesday will start at about 8 p.m. EDT and be televised by NBC. Atlanta’s series hosting Philadelphia or Arizona will have 2 p.m. games televised on NBC, and the Chicago White Sox series would start at 5 p.m. if at Texas and at 4 p.m. if at Houston, with games televised by NBCSN. The Chicago Cubs’ series at San Diego will have 10 p.m. EDT games and be televised by NBCSN.

CNN reported Saturday that it had been scheduled to travel with the president. According to White House guidance, CNN was replaced by the conservative Real America’s Voice News. The news came Friday night just after journalists from CNN and two other outlets that Trump banned last week from the White House grounds returned to the executive complex. Trump traveled to Knoxville, Tennessee, for a game between Tennessee and Texas.

Reporters from CNN, MS NOW and Politico returned to the White House hours after a federal judge temporarily blocked President Donald Trump’s ban of the three news outlets. The judge said early Thursday that the news outlets must have their access restored. But reporters from all three outlets said they were still blocked early Thursday before access was granted a few hours later. Then some CNN and MS NOW journalists were denied entry to cover an evening event. The back-and-forth was the latest in an extraordinary showdown between Trump and media outlets whose coverage he dislikes. Trump announced he was banning the outlets Friday, assailing what he called “fake news.” The outlets argued they were singled out over the content of their coverage.

Reporters from the two cable networks both went live to report they’d been barred following a ban imposed by President Donald Trump. The actions escalated Trump’s long-running efforts to restrict news coverage by journalists he finds objectionable. It's the latest test of First Amendment protections in the United States. Trump said Friday he would ban both organizations and also Politico, because of their coverage — which he called “fake news.” Politico said its White House reporter Cheyenne Haslett was also denied entry to the White House and had her badge confiscated.
