TWIN FALLS — Emergency responders rescued a BASE jumper whose parachute became tangled in the Perrine Bridge Tuesday evening.

A female BASE jumper dangled halfway under the bridge for about 40 minutes. Rescuers pulled the woman through a manhole cover. The Northbound lane of the bridge was closed during the rescue. 

In 2007, a BASE jumper became tangled in the bridge and rescuers lowered the man to a boat in the Snake River. A Twin Falls County Search and Rescue team member was lowered by rope over the railing of the bridge.

A second team of rescuers hiked along the catwalk out to the middle of the bridge, standing above the BASE jumper near where his chute had snagged. That jumper suffered three broken bones.
