CHUBBUCK - The manager of Pine Ridge Mall said Tuesday his company continues to talk with a potential retailer to fill the vacancy left when Macy's closed in August.

Ron Reynolds, general manager of Pine Ridge Mall, said his company is in negotiations with a retailer that may mean the &#8220possibility there could be some renovations including some exterior additions," to the old Macy's space.

He said they were also working with another regional retailer in hopes to bring that store to Pine Ridge Mall by Christmas. Reynolds would not give the name of either retailer citing company policy not disclose that information before leases are inked.

As Reynolds looks for a replacement for Macy's, the changes at Pine Ridge Mall continue. Dollar Tree, a dollar store, is leaving the mall and moving into the former Rite Aid location at 4752 Yellowstone Ave. in Chubbuck.

Returning to Pine Ridge Mall earlier this month was Nook & Cranny, a home decor store with a country motif that also sells some furniture.

Audrey Henrie bought the roughly 14-year-old operation a little less than two years ago. She said those who used to shop at Nook & Cranny when it was previously in Pine Ridge Mall may not recognize it.

&#8220I have given it a whole new look," Henrie said. &#8220I have upgraded it."

Reynolds also addressed a long-circulating rumor about another store potentially leaving the mall-Dillard's.

&#8220It's just that, a rumor," Reynolds said.

Jim Campbell, manager of Dillard's Pocatello store, said he first heard the rumor from a Macy's associate who approached him as that store was closing.

&#8220We aren't going anywhere," Campbell said. &#8220It's nothing but rumors."
