Several years ago, I asked a friend why he didn’t hunt anymore. He said he stopped hunting because the mountains kept getting steeper and harder to climb. I made a decision that day to never get to the point that the mountains would seem any steeper each year.

Visiting a supervised shooting range for the first time can seem daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Shooting ranges are designed for safe firearms practice for shooters of all abilities, and they can be a great place for beginners to learn more about responsible, safe shooting.

A couple of weeks ago, our Boy Scout troop went on a five-day camping trip. I was asked to come up to the main camp on Wednesday and help the scoutmaster teach rifle marksmanship and certify the boys for the Rifle Marksmanship merit badge.
