Greg Long carded two sub-70 rounds to win last weekend’s Highland Amateur at Pocatello’s Highland Golf Course.

Long beat the field by nine strokes with a 69-68—137. At 7-under par, he was the only golfer in the field to finish below par.

Long had a one-shot lead on Brock Buffat after Saturday’s opening round. But on Sunday, Long’s 68 easily bested Buffat’s 76.

Long also won two skins for birdies on holes 8 and 14.

Buffat finished tied for second in the championship flight with a 70-76—146. Cody Scheierman matched him with a pair of 73s. Marty Fehringer and Dan Pickens both finished at 151 to tie for fourth.

Devin Papetti won the first flight with a 79-76—155. He was locked in a four-way tie after the first round, but tied for the best round again Sunday to pull away from the field. Robert Perkins was second with a 157.

Rick Sanford won the second flight with an 82-83—165.
