Idaho State cross country opened the 2019 season Tuesday with its annual cut down race. The race features members of the team running laps around the Davis Field track while the pace required for each lap incrementally increases.
Molly Olsen joined an elite group of Bengal women Tuesday morning, when she finished the entire race and set a new record in the process. The race had only been previously completed by former ISU runner Jenica Dodge.
The race provides an opportunity for head coach Nathan Houle to evaluate the fitness levels of his student-athletes and gauge the upcoming season.
The Bengals return to action Aug. 31, as they head to Orem, Utah, for the UVU Invitational.
