Montana quarterback Dalton Sneed was named the STATS FCS National Offensive Player of the Week, announced Monday. Earlier in the day, Sneed was named the Big Sky Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the third consecutive week.
The senior registered a career-high 464 yards of total offense Saturday in the Grizzlies’ 59-20 home win over Idaho State. Sneed passed for two touchdowns and rushed for two more, accumulating 397 yards passing and 67 yards rushing.
Montana trailed 17-0 early in the second quarter, but with Sneed’s leadership, bounced back to go on a 59-3 run to end the game.
It is the fourth STATS FCS National Player of the Week honor for a Big Sky player this season. Eastern Washington’s Dre’Sonte Dorton earned offensive honors on Sept. 9, Idaho’s Charles Akanno earned defensive honors on Sept. 23, and Montana’s Adam Wilson earned special teams accolades on Sept. 30.
