Idaho State fell 3-0 to Valparaiso and Robert Morris 3-0 on Friday in Kent, Ohio.
During the three-set match, the Bengals put up 30 kills led by senior Haylie Keck with nine, sophomore Duquesne Moratzka with eight and senior Brooke Pehrson with six. Senior Nikole Cook had 14 assists followed by junior Chelsea Vaughan with 13.
Idaho State out-blocked Valparaiso eight to seven, led by sophomore Raegan Steiner with five, Pehrson with four, and redshirt junior Maysie Rongen with three.
Keck and Raegan Steiner led the team with seven kills each against Robert Morris. Sophomore Mahala Bradburn recorded 20 digs. Vaughan tallied 17 assists and 11 digs.
"We are still working through the cognitive phase of playing volleyball and changing a few things," ISU coach Sammi Stuart said. "I like the direction we are going, just need to keep chipping away."
The Bengals continue the Kent State tournament Saturday against Kent State.
