Molly Vitale-Sullivan — College of Idaho cross country
Pocatello High graduate Molly Vitale-Sullivan started her senior cross country season with a win, finishing first at the Eastern Oregon Open on Sept. 13.
Vitale-Sullivan’s winning time of 18 minutes, 35.8 seconds guided the Yotes to a team victory. C of I placed three runners in the top five.
The College of Idaho cross country team continues its season Sept. 28 in Sacramento, California.
Josey Gunter — Walla Walla Community College soccer
Marsh Valley High School graduate Josey Gunter is playing a crucial role in Northwest Athletic Conference’s best defense.
Gunter and Walla Walla Community College have allowed one goal through seven games this season. Gunter has made 19 saves for a save percentage of .950 — tied for second-best in the NWAC.
Walla Walla (7-0, 2-0 NWAC East Region) has logged six consecutive shutouts heading into Wednesday’s game at Wenatchee Valley.
Mason Price — Rocky Mountain College football
Shelley High alumnus Mason Price is one of the top tacklers for this year’s Rocky Mountain College football team.
The sophomore defensive end is sixth on the team with 11 tackles, including 2 1/2 tackles for loss. He had his best performance of the season Sept. 14 against Carroll, recording five tackles and 2 1/2 tackles for loss.
Rocky Mountain (2-1, 1-1 Frontier Conference) hosts Montana Western on Saturday.
