Elijah Armstrong (Pocatello High) – Boise State University

Pocatello graduate Elijah Armstrong won the men’s 5,000-meter race at the Mountain West Conference track and field championships for Boise State on Saturday in Clovis, California.

The sophomore finished with a time of 14 minutes, 3.76 seconds to clinch the second individual conference title of his college career. He was also one of 11 Broncos to earn all-conference honors.

Boise State begins the NCAA West Region preliminary round May 23 in Sacramento, California.

Dylan Mansanarez (Blackfoot High) – College of Idaho

Blackfoot graduate Dylan Mansanarez completed his senior season on the College of Idaho baseball team.

His best performance of the season was against Providence Christian on Jan. 31, when he had four hits, six RBIs and one run in a 19-13 home loss.

Mansanarez tallied 34 hits, 17 RBIs and 12 runs while recording a .236 batting average this season.

College of Idaho finished the season 16-35.

Ashlyn Winn (Highland High) – North Idaho College

Highland graduate Ashlyn Winn has continued to be one of the best power hitters in the Northwest Athletic Conference this season for the North Idaho softball team.

The sophomore infielder is tied for first in the NWAC with 25 homers.

Winn has tallied multiple home runs in six games, including in a 16-0 home win against Yakima Valley in five innings. She tallied seven RBIs, three hits, three runs and three homers.

North Idaho (27-5) faces Southwest Oregon on Friday in Spokane, Washington, in the first round of the NWAC tournament after clinching the NWAC East Region crown.
