Challis’ Kade Bruno is tied for the lead in saddle bronc at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Bruno’s score of 75 during Sunday’s performance is tied atop the first-go-round standings with cowboys from Oklahoma and New Mexico. Bruno won the Idaho high school state championship earlier this summer.
Sugar City’s Haylee Pocock sits in second place in pole bending after one go-round. Pocock won the Monday morning performance with a time of 20.309 seconds.
In team roping, Cooper Duffin (Pocatello) and Chance Moldenhauer (American Falls) are in fifth place after one go.
The teammates cocked a time of 7.47 seconds Tuesday, good for second place in the morning performance.
Malta’s Laynee Gregersen is also in fifth place after one go. The goat tier finished her Sunday evening go-round in 7.52 seconds to finish second in the performance.
