Ashlyn Winn (Highland) – North Idaho College

Highland High School graduate Ashlyn Winn has been one of the best home run hitters in the Northwest Athletic Conference this season for the North Idaho softball team.

The sophomore is tied for second in home runs in the NWAC with 12. She also leads her team in RBIs with 32 and is second in hits with 28.

Winn is coming off one of her best performances of the season in a 13-2 win at Spokane on April 2, when she compiled six RBIs, three hits, two homers and two runs.

North Idaho (13-7, 11-3 NWAC East) plays Friday at Big Bend in a doubleheader.

Kiara Grover (Highland) – Salt Lake Community College

Highland High School graduate Kiara Grover has established a winning record in 11 appearances in the circle for the Salt Lake softball team this season.

The sophomore pitcher has a 5-3 record, while tallying a 3.89 ERA and 16 strikeouts through 39 1/3 innings.

In one of her best games of the season, Grover allowed one earned run and four hits in a complete-game effort that led to a 17-1 five-inning win over Colorado Northwestern at home on March 2. She also tallied four strikeouts and no walks.

Salt Lake (28-6, 20-4 Scenic West Athletic Conference) hosts College of Southern Idaho on Friday-Saturday.

MaKenzie VanSickle (Highland) – Idaho State University

Highland High School graduate MaKenzie VanSickle has been one of the top hitters for the Idaho State softball team this season.

The senior utility player has 22 hits, third-most on the team. She is also third on the team in homers with three.

VanSickle tallied two hits, two RBIs, three runs and a homer in one of her best performance of the season that lifted the Bengals to an 8-6 home win over Utah Valley on March 19.

Idaho State (14-20, 4-4 Big Sky Conference) hosts Weber State on Friday-Saturday.
