The recent column by Chris Stevens (The Fourth Branch of Government) discussing unresponsive legislators had some very astute observations. She said, "from time to time many of our legislators will fall victim to arrogance and push their personal agendas regardless of the will of their constituents."

When a similar problem occurred in Arizona a few years ago, one of the key instigators of repeatedly bad legislative bills, Russell Pierce, had to be recalled by voter ballot a few years later. He started his career with popular support within the dominant Republican party, but his attacks on various groups grew so radical, that the voters in his own district voted to recall him.

I wonder if we are at that point in Idaho? How far is too far? Perhaps it is time to take note of which legislators continue to fight against the will of the people, regardless of party, and make a change for the better.
