PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Two people were arrested after protesters set fires in the road outside the Justice Center in downtown Portland, Oregon.
KOIN reports a group of about 100 people had formed outside the Justice Center and outside the Portland Police Bureau’s Central Precinct by about 10 p.m. Thursday. Some spray painted the Central Precinct and stacked garbage near the garage exits and entrances. Meanwhile, other protesters set a fire and blocked traffic.
Two arrests were made overnight. One man was arrested for interfering with a peace officer and second-degree disorderly conduct while another was arrested for reckless burning.
Oregon's largest city has seen near nightly protests for nearly five months since George Floyd was killed by police in Minneapolis.
