Two women died Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 15 north of Malad, according to a press release from Idaho State Police.
The accident happened at 5:35 p.m. when 61-year-old Janice Breitenfeldt of Whitehall, Montana, was driving north on I-15 in a 2000 Ford Excursion. The vehicle was was pulling a 33-foot camp trailer.
Her passenger was 29-year-old Skye Breitenfeldt of Whitehall, Montana. Then Janice Breitenfeldt drove off the right shoulder of the roadway, state police said. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its top.
Both Janice and Skye Breitenfeldt died at the scene of the crash. They were both wearing seat belts.
Idaho State Police were assisted at the scene by the Bannock County Sheriff’s Office, Bannock County Search and Rescue, the Pocatello Ambulance, the Downey Ambulance, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the Oneida County Ambulance and Oneida County Rescue 1.
