Bingham crash

A Honda Civic appeared to be totaled in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning on Highway 26 west of Blackfoot.

Two Pocatello men were airlifted to local hospitals Monday after they were involved in a head-on crash in Bingham County.

Idaho State Police is investigating the collision that occurred at about 7:30 a.m., according to a news release.

A 34-year-old man was driving a 2012 Honda Civic east on U.S. Highway 26, near milepost 296 west of Blackfoot. A 35-year-old man was driving west in a 2016 Chevrolet Impala when the Honda Civic crossed the center line and struck the Chevrolet, the release said.

The drivers, who are both from Pocatello, were wearing seat belts, the release said. They transported to the hospital via air ambulance.

The lanes were blocked for approximately three and a half hours.

The incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
