CHUBBUCK — A driver was injured in a single-vehicle crash that ended with a badly damaged car sitting in the Interstate 86 median off Yellowstone Avenue late Saturday night.
The wreck occurred around 11 p.m. when it appears the driver was attempting to enter Interstate 86 while heading southbound on Yellowstone Avenue.
The driver apparently lost control of the car, missed the interstate’s entrance and careened off-road toward the interstate. The out-of-control vehicle apparently barreled across the interstate, possibly overturned and came to a halt in the median.
The driver of the car suffered injuries in the crash and was transported via ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. The driver’s name and condition have not yet been released.
It’s believed the driver was the car’s lone occupant.
Interstate 86 was partially blocked in both directions for about 30 minutes because of the wreck.
Idaho State Police are investigating the crash and are expected to release more information soon.
