ATV crash near Chubbuck

The scene of Tuesday afternoon's all-terrain vehicle crash north of Chubbuck that resulted in a man suffering head injuries. 

CHUBBUCK — A Pocatello man suffered head injuries when he crashed his all-terrain vehicle north of Chubbuck on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. while Robert B. Galloway, 60, was driving a 2001 Honda ATV northbound on Hiline Road between Tyhee and 2 1/2 Mile roads. Idaho State Police said Galloway failed to negotiate a curve in the road and as a result the ATV overturned.

Galloway, the lone rider on the ATV, was not wearing a helmet, state police said. 

Galloway was transported via Pocatello Fire Department ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello for treatment of head injuries suffered in the crash.

PMC officials said he's currently in stable condition and is expected to survive.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
