Members of the Bannock County Search and Rescue team helped rescue four teenagers who were stranded up Blackrock Canyon on Saturday night.
The incident began to unfold around 9 p.m. on Saturday night when Bannock County dispatch received the report that a vehicle was stuck about 1.5 miles up Blackrock Canyon, according to Lt. Andy Iverson of Bannock County Sheriff’s Office.
The reporting party called and said they observed an SOS signal that was flashing in the area of the stuck pickup truck, Iverson said.
Upon arrival, Bannock County Search and Rescue members located four teenagers with a pickup truck that was stuck and had run out of gas, Iverson said.
Members of the rescue team remained at the scene until the father of the boy who was driving the truck responded and got the vehicle unstuck and partially fueled up, Iverson said.
The rescue lasted nearly two hours, but everyone involved was safe and unhurt, Iverson said.
