CHUBBUCK — A 19-year-old Fort Hall woman is facing a drug-related charge following a traffic stop on Dec. 3.
Johnese P. Washakie has been charged with a felony for possession of a controlled substance, according to Bannock County Magistrate Court records. A hearing that will determine if there is enough evidence to take her case to trial has been set for Dec. 17.
Chubbuck police say the incident began when they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Hiline Road. In the process, they discovered that Washakie and Alexander Whiteman, 18, of Fort Hall, both passengers, were wanted on warrants and took them into custody.
Police said they also located a glass pipe and methamphetamine, which allegedly belonged to Washakie, leading to the drug charge.
In addition, Whiteman was charged with a misdemeanor for providing false identity information to an officer, police said.
