A 52-year-old Fort Hall man has been accused of attempted strangulation.
Marlan J. Uribe was arrested on Friday after he allegedly tried to choke a woman during an argument, according to Pocatello police.
He was officially charged with the felony crime in Bannock County Magistrate Court on Monday. A hearing that will determine if there is enough evidence to take the case to trial has been set for July 15.
If Uribe is convicted of attempted strangulation, he faces up to 15 years in prison and a $50,000 fine, according to court records.
