Rigby bomb threat

    RIGBY — Rigby High School students evacuated today at 1:35 p.m. because of bomb threats called into the counselors’ office, according to a press release from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office

    From the time the call came in to when the evacuation took place the school issued a Code Red and was immediately put on lock down, law enforcement arrived, secured the building and made a safe route for the student to clear.

    The school responded with buses and were ready for the students to be transported, 750 to 800 students were bused to Rigby Jr. High at 125 N 1 W. Parents of the students were notified where to pick them up.

    The Idaho Falls bomb dog on scene went through the high school, all out buildings and parking lots along with law enforcement officers.

    No bomb was found. No suspects from within the school have been identified. Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
