AMERICAN FALLS — American Falls School District 381 has responded to reported threatening social media posts involving local high school students.

Superintendent Randy Jensen said the school has done an investigation into the threatening social media posts, and consequences resulted. He said local law enforcement is now conducting a separate investigation.

“We never felt like any students were in danger,” Jensen said.

According to a statement authored by the school district and shared on the Power County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, parents contacted the district about the posts.

“Please be aware that any time there is any clear threat to any students, parents, law enforcement will be contacted as soon as possible,” the district wrote in the statement.
