Water tanker truck

An American Falls man was injured in a water tanker truck rollover in Power County on Monday morning.

POCATELLO — Emergency responders had to extricate a 53-year-old American Falls man who became trapped in a water tanker truck that rolled on Monday morning.

Power County sheriff’s officials say Timothy Dunn was driving the vehicle when it rolled from Lakeview Road near Interstate 86 around 10 a.m.

Power County Sheriff’s deputies, American Falls Police, Idaho State Police and Power County fire and medical personnel responded to the scene, according to a news release, which adds that fire personnel were able to free the man.

Dunn was transported to Power County Hospital District in American Falls. Officials there said he was treated and released on Monday.

Sheriff’s officials say some water did leak from the single tank during the incident, but didn’t cause any issues. Still, the I-86 onramp near Exit 40 was blocked for about three hours due to the crash.

Sheriff’s officials said Monday afternoon that they were investigating the incident and trying to determine exactly what caused the vehicle to roll.
