The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children issued an alert Wednesday asking for the public’s help in locating a 15-year-old girl reported missing in the Chubbuck area late last month.

Desiree Silvia Otero, of Chubbuck, was last seen on March 24.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Otero has pierced ears and a scar on her left cheek.

She is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs 120 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a sweater, blue jeans, black-and-pink Adidas sneakers, a silver heart necklace and diamond studs.

Anybody with knowledge of Otero’s whereabouts should contact the Chubbuck Police Department at 208-237-7172 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.

The Journal reported on Otero being missing last week after noticing her on the Idaho State Police missing teen list.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children then sent an alert on Wednesday in hopes that she could be located. Police said they consider Otero to be a runaway.
