Two southeast Idaho athletes ran Saturday at the Great Southwest Track and Field Classic at the University of New Mexico.

Highland’s Alyssa Jean Feltz had a strong showing and placed eighth in the girls 1,600-meter race, facing high school runners from all over the United States.

“This is a great meet,” Highland assistant track and field coach Doug Hopster said. “She did really well.”

West Side’s Cyrus Rindlisbacher also competed Saturday, running the boys 110-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and the 200-meter race. He did not place in any of his events.
