The Idaho State men’s basketball team added another Gate City star to its 2019-20 roster.
Pocatello High School graduate Will Reichelt is joining the Bengals as a non-scholarship player next season. The addition gives ISU 10 Idaho natives on next season’s roster, including the Gate City’s Reichelt and Daxton Carr (Highland).
Reichelt, listed as a 6-foot-7, 220-pound senior, averaged 12.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game his senior season at PHS (2014-15). He played his freshman season of college basketball at Coe College, a Division III program in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he averaged 1.2 points and 1.3 rebounds in 5.4 minutes per game (14 appearances).
He spent the next two seasons at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, including one as a redshirt. He was a scholarship player for the Golden Eagles during the 2017-18 season, when CSI was the NJCAA national runner-up. Reichelt averaged 2.0 points and 1.2 rebounds per game in 4.0 minutes per contest that season (18 appearances).
Reichelt was a student at ISU last season, but did not play college basketball.
Reichelt is one of six former CSI players to join the Bengals this offseason. All six played under Jared Phay, ISU’s first-year associate head coach.
