Local swimmers traveled to the Boise City Aquatics Center for the 5A-1A state swimming meet this weekend.

Century’s trip was highlighted by a third-place finish in the 4A boys standings. Joseph Kaiser, Jake Ryan Walsh, Gage Fouse and Coleman Sandy led the D-backs to a 4A boys 400-yard freestyle relay title, while Fouse, Drew Perry, Kaiser and Sandy helped the Century boys finish second in the 4A 200-yard medley relay. Kaiser also finished fourth in the boys 100-yard breast stroke. Century’s Kaitlyn Shelley finished fourth in the girls 100-yard butterfly, guiding the D-backs girls to a 10th place finish in 4A.

Marsh Valley’s Emilie Nelson, Sadie Shail, Ellie Shail and Abigail Hatch guided the Eagles to a second-place finish in the 3A-1A girls 200-yard medley relay. The same swimmers finished third in the 3A-1A girls 200-yard freestyle relay. The Marsh Valley girls finished third in 3A.

Highland’s Guy Patterson finished ninth in the boys 200-yard freestyle and 11th in the boys 100-yard freestyle. The Highland boys finished in 15th place in 5A.
