POCATELLO — Nearly 500 Idaho Power customers in the downtown area and west Pocatello were temporarily without electricity on Sunday night after a power pole fire and downed power line.
The power pole fire and downed line occurred around 9:50 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of North Union Pacific Avenue in downtown Pocatello.
Idaho Power crews responded to the incident and by 11 p.m. had power restored to all but 11 customers. Power was expected to be restored to those remaining customers by early Monday morning, the utility reported.
The Pocatello Fire Department responded to the power pole fire and quickly extinguished the flames.
No injuries were reported.
Idaho Power said the power outage initially impacted an area including downtown Pocatello and most of west Pocatello including the west bench.
Idaho Power reports that the power outage remains under investigation.
