POCATELLO — The Pocatello Fire Department has added a vehicle to its fleet that will help start conversations about fire prevention.

Firefighters recently unveiled the department’s Fire Prevention Jeep. The 2014 Jeep Wrangler was donated to the department by Idaho Central Credit Union and had previously been used as one of their Green Machines. From there, local businesses chipped in to fully customize the vehicle with a wrap, tires, rims, bumpers, sound system, lights and more.

“Much like the Pocatello Police Department’s D.A.R.E. Jeep, this vehicle will serve as a conversation starter at different events in the community,” said Kim Stouse, Community Relations/Education specialist. “After we tell citizens about the Jeep, we’ll be able to get into topics like the importance of smoke alarms, fall prevention, fireworks safety and more.”

A list of businesses that sponsored the effort is included below:

  • Idaho Central Credit Union
  • Phil Meador Automotive Group
  • Sound Source
  • Kenwood
  • Nitto
  • CBI Off Road Fabrication
  • Icon Vehicle Dynamics
  • Rhino-Rack
  • Allstate Insurance
  • Farm Bureau
  • Restore Right
  • Fire Services of Idaho
  • McDonald’s
  • Outer Limits Fun Zone
  • Chad’s Rentals
  • Wilks Funeral Home

“Thank you to all of the businesses that helped make the Jeep possible,” Stouse said.
