Welcome Back Bengals! Time to decorate Orange & Black!

The ISU Bengals will begin classes on Monday, Aug. 19. The ISU CommUniversity Committee is issuing a challenge to our community to get out those banners, signs, streamers, window paints and paw prints and let’s decorate Orange & Black to welcome back our Bengals! Let’s all show our Bengal Pride and put on our very best Orange & Black.

This week in Old Town Pocatello

Cottonwood Junction and Pocatello Arts Council are excited to announce the construction and premier dates of their first annual outdoor art exhibit in Old Town Pocatello. The theme this year is, “Pocatello, a Reason to Smile.”

10 plus artists began painting on Monday and will continue through Sunday in the alley behind Cottonwood Junction at 141 N. Main, the Historic Woolworths Building. The public is invited to stop by and see their progress. Colby Akers, founder of Boise’s Freak Alley Outdoor Gallery will be in residence for the week encouraging artists and also painting a panel.

The completed wall of art will make its official premier on Monday, Aug. 19, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The public is invited to stop by for refreshments, to meet the artists and see their finished murals. The art work will be officially on display from Aug. 20 to Friday, Sept. 6. The panels will continue to be on display for one year.

Cottonwood Junction is Southeast Idaho’s consignment shop; because change is good. They consign and sell antiques, furniture, vintage, art, and rugs. All ISU students, faculty and staff are invited to attend. The event features free food, music, games, prizes and free T-shirts for students from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Old Town Pavilion.
