POCATELLO — The second annual Mosh For Santa fundraiser concert will be held at 2 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Pocatello Elks Lodge, 410 N. Main St. Admission to the metal/hardcore crossover show will be $5 or a new toy or book. All donations will be given to the local Toys for Tots program to benefit children in the area.
Performing bands will include Lonehand from Twin Falls and State of Suffering from Boise, and Positive Reinforcement (PXR), In Unison, Zodiac Killer and Deep Romance will be coming from Salt Lake City. Thrown to the Wolves is from Pocatello and Militant is coming from Logan, Utah.
Cade Walker, promoter with SK Productions, also organized last year’s Mosh For Santa concert. He would like to see even more children benefit from the fundraiser this year.
“Last year was a huge success, so we’re trying to double that this year,” he said.
This year’s Mosh for Santa concert will feature a raffle. Each $5 raffle ticket will earn its buyer a chance at winning gift cards to local merchants, including Texas Roadhouse, Gypsy Tattoo Co., The Office Bar and Grill and many others.
Punk/hardcore/metal band Farooq has also donated some albums and merchandise to give out at the show.
“Anything means a lot to these kids,” added Walker, “and this is a reason to go out and feel welcome. We’re trying to pass it on.”
This is an all ages concert.
